If you’re the proud owner of an X2 Pro electric bike, you might notice it looks strikingly similar to a motorcycle. This sleek design can sometimes cause confusion, leading people to think it’s an overpowered, off-road-only vehicle. However, we’ve specifically designed the X2 Pro with both City Mode and Off-Road Mode to keep it fully street-legal while still offering the thrill of off-road adventures.
Why Two Modes?
The City Mode is configured by default when the X2 Pro ships, ensuring the bike meets road safety regulations right out of the box. In City Mode, the bike’s speed is capped at 28 mph, and the motor power is locked at 750W, while the bike retains pedals. This qualifies the X2 Pro as a Class 3 e-bike, making it fully compliant with urban traffic laws.
Having two modes is essential for giving you flexibility in both city commuting and off-road exploration. By default, City Mode keeps the bike within legal limits for public road use, so you can ride safely and confidently without breaking any local laws.
How to Use Off-Road Mode Responsibly
The Off-Road Mode is where the fun really begins. This mode unlocks the bike’s full potential, allowing it to reach up to 50 mph—perfect for off-road tracks, open fields, or any terrain far from the city. However, we urge all users to only switch to Off-Road Mode in non-regulated areas where such speeds are safe and allowed.
Switching between City Mode and Off-Road Mode is simple and takes just one minute. We designed the process to be quick and easy so that you can adapt to your environment as needed. That said, please ensure you are following all local laws, and when riding in public areas, always use City Mode to avoid legal issues.
The Importance of Staying Legal
We cannot stress enough the importance of remaining compliant with the law. Although the X2 Pro has impressive off-road capabilities, when you’re riding in cities or other regulated areas, City Mode is the safe and legal option. Misusing Off-Road Mode in urban environments could not only lead to legal trouble but also pose safety risks to you and others.
Conclusion
The X2 Pro’s dual-mode functionality gives you the best of both worlds—legal city commuting and exhilarating off-road adventures. With just a minute to switch modes, you have the flexibility to enjoy your bike to its fullest. Just remember to ride responsibly and comply with local laws for a safe and hassle-free experience.
